Whenua Tapu Cemetery
This page describes Whenua Tapu Cemetery and Crematorium owned and managed by Porirua City Council.
Whenua Tapu Cemetery is located on State Highway 1 between Plimmerton and Pukerua Bay. Its tranquil and peaceful native bush setting is an ideal environment for reflection and remembrance. It is in two parts - original Eastern Division and the newer Western Division, separated by the main trunk railway line.
The cemetery offers a variety of burial and cremation options, including a children's section, an RSA section, a memorial wall, a lawn or garden area.

Whenua Tapu Crematorium

The Whenua Tapu Chapel seats around 90 people. With its natural timbered ceilings and views to the gardens, the Chapel is a tranquil spot ideal for an intimate funeral or memorial service. The Chapel can be hired in 30 minute time slots for a pre-committal/burial service, and refreshments.
