Volunteer Porirua

Who are we?

Volunteer Porirua is a branch of Volunteer Wellington, an independent not-for-profit organisation supporting and facilitating Volunteering in the Wellington Region. Key partnerships have been formed over the years with Work and Income, Porirua HealthLinks, Whitireia Community Polytechnic, sporting groups, Porirua City Council Community Development and many local agencies.

What we do?

Volunteer Porirua recruits and refers volunteers to voluntary work roles available with not-for-profit organisations registered in our database. Volunteer Porirua in conjunction with Volunteer Wellington supports networks of volunteers and voluntary organisations in the Wellington region. We provide training in the management of volunteers, promote the benefits and value of voluntary work and facilitate corporate volunteering.

How we can help you?

A good way to get work experience in New Zealand is to volunteer. Our voluntary roles include administration, childcare, elderly support, education, art and culture, sport and more. Phone our Branch Manager, Lynne Harding to make an appointment to come to our office and have a chat with us. We will spend up to an hour with you to look for a voluntary work position that suits your interests and goals.
