Porirua Older Persons Advisory Group
This page describes the purpose and activities of the Porirua Older Persons Advisory Group, and provides links to further resources.
Purpose of the Group
This group was established by the Porirua City Council as part of its Older Persons Strategy. Supported by Council, it holds two monthly forums for the exchange of information, ideas and views on older peoples’ issues within the city community.
In particular the Group considers and advises on significant Council developments and policies that are likely to be of interest to and/or affect older people within Porirua City.
The Group is comprised of older people and representatives from agencies with an interest in the wellbeing of older people. These members of the external community and its network provide a useful source of information and advice that can be brought back to the forum.
The current chairperson is Freda Tohill and she can be contacted via the Citizens Advice Bureau on 04 237 8846 or by emailing email@example.com. Please note that a message will be passed to Freda and she will respond as soon as she is able to.
