Notice: 3 February
There will be water disruptions within the Papakowhai area due to a large leak within the mains feeding from Porirua Low Level Reservoir.
At present the area is being feed from Ascot Park Reservoir - but this has limited ability to feed such a large zone. Residents may also notice a difference in water pressure which will be lower.
The water service crews are working over night to track down the leak. The water main between Whitfordbrown and Tweed Rds is laid very deep and the water has been seeping straight into the ground and into the Aotea Lagoon which makes it very difficult to track down its precise location.
Council is doing everything it can to maintain a reasonable service to the area as well as limit the amount of water lost during this period. We are hoping over the next day or so to have a clearer picture as to where the leak is. We apologise for any inconvenience and ask for your patience.
