Wide range of activities at aquatic centre
The Arena Aquatic Centre is a heated indoor facility, with the following features:
- 25 metre lane pool
- Free form wave and leisure pool
- Toddlers pool
- Spa pools
- Sauna
- Steam Room
- Hydroslide
- Cafe
The Arena Aquatic Centre caters for a wide variety of users including, competitive, recreational and fitness swimmers, aquarobics and aquajogging.
Casual users can experience the hydroslide, lazy river or splash around and sit under the numerous water jets and play in the waves. The lane pool is heated to 27 degrees, the wave pool heated to 30 degrees, spas and toddlers pools are heated to 35 degrees.
The Arena Aquatic Centre is within walking distance to both North City Shopping Centre and the Mega Centre. Porirua City has plenty of free parking and easy access to many recreational facilities. Adjacent to the Aquatic Centre is the Te Rauparaha Arena and Fitness Centre, Pataka Museum, Cultural Centre and the Porirua Skate Park.
Opening Hours
The Arena Aquatic Centre is open 7 days a week including all public holidays, except Christmas Day, and from Noon on ANZAC Day.
