Public Sports Grounds
Porirua has wide range of sports grounds
The Council provides and maintains 13 sports grounds that offer 39 full-size-equivalent sports fields. There are also 35 courts (21 are floodlit) on 12 parks across the city. There are facilities for rugby, league, football, cricket and softball for play at the highest level of Wellington competition. Fields for playing touch, tag, kilikiti, and athletics are also available.
The sports grounds are used extensively for both casual and organised sport. If you wish to book a sports ground for an organised activity, please ring the Council during office hours on phone (04) 237 5089. There may be a charge for these activities.

Porirua Park (Porirua East)
The park offers a 2000-seat covered grandstand with media box, 4 senior playing fields (one a sand carpet pitch), 1 softball diamond, changing rooms, public toilets, and television-standard night-lighting. The number 1 field is suitable for top-level competition play. The Northern United Rugby Clubrooms are also situated here.
Endeavour Park (Whitby)
This park has 2 senior football fields, 1 artificial cricket pitch, 2 artificial cricket practice nets and a pavilion. The Western Suburbs Soccer clubrooms and Mana Montessori are located on this reserve.
Adventure Park (Whitby)
Features include 2 senior football fields, 1 synthetic cricket wicket, one 400m grass athletic track, 2 jumping pits and throwing circles, and a pavilion. The Whitby Bowling Club, the Whitby Skateboard Park, Scout Den and Whitby Toy Library are also situated here.
Ascot Park (Ascot Park)
Here you'll find the Bernie Wood Turf, 2 rugby league fields and a pavilion. There are also 2 hard courts with markings for tennis, basketball and netball. These sporting facilities are complemented by a children’s playground.
Cannons Creek Park (Cannons Creek)
For track and field enthusiasts, there's a 400 metre grass running track, shotput and discuss throwing circles, three rugby league fields and a junior winter field, an artificial Kilikiti and cricket wicket, and a pavilion.
Cardiff Park (Cannons Creek)
One rugby practice field.
Elsdon Park (Porirua Central)
This Park includes 1 senior football field, 3 rugby fields, 3 artificial cricket wickets, an artificial Hockey Turf (operated by Wellington Hockey), and a pavilion.
Greenmeadows Park (Pukerua Bay)
This field is used for junior football games.
Kura Park (Titahi Bay)
This park has a pavilion, 1 senior and 1 junior football field, 1 senior grass cricket table, 2 jumping pits, a 400m square grass athletics track and throwing circles.
Mungavin Park (Porirua East)
Court sport is catered for at Mungavin Park with 10 netball and tennis courts, Kapi-Mana Netball clubrooms and a playground.
Natone Park (Waitangirua)
Natone Park has 1 synthetic cricket practice wicket.
Ngatitoa Domain (Mana)
The spacious seaside domain features 3 senior rugby fields, 1 senior and 5 junior football fields, 4 cricket practice nets, 2 senior grass cricket wickets, 4 netball and tennis courts, softball diamonds, and touch rugby fields. User-pays public lighting is provided for casual night-time tennis and netball in season, and the Ngatitoa Hall (which is located in the domain) is marked and lit for badminton.
Various other sporting and recreation clubs are based here including the Sea Scouts and Sea Cadets, Mana Cruising Club, Paremata-Plimmerton Rugby Club, Paremata-Plimmerton Netball Club, Ngatitoa Tennis Club, Titahi Bay Dog Obedience, and the Mana Squash Club. The North City Cricket Club has an indoor cricket facility here.
A playground is located next to the Paremata Playcentre. The shared pathway Ara Harakeke runs through the domain.
Onepoto Park (Titahi Bay)
Onepoto Park has 2 senior football fields, 1 senior and 2 junior rugby fields, tag fields, 1 softball diamond, a pavilion, Indoor Bowls Association clubrooms, and a Scout Den.
There are 2 junior football fields and a training football field here. The Mana Archery Club, Plimmerton Croquet Club, Boys Brigade and Mana Arts Society are also based here. The shared pathway Ara Harakeke runs through the domain.
Postgate Park (Whitby)
Postgate Park has 1 junior football field and 2 junior cricket wickets.
Rangituhi Park (Porirua Central)
This park has 1 junior rugby field.
Waihora Park (Waitangirua)
There is a senior football field and pavilion at this park.
