Speed Limits in Porirua City
Porirua City Council consulted with the public about the speed limits on Paekakariki Hill Road, Grays Road, section of Titahi Bay Road, section of Raiha Street and around selected schools in the city. The aim was to ensure that risk to public safety is minimised and road users travel at speeds that are reasonable and appropriate.

Thank you to those who sent us a submission on the Proposal for Speed Limit Changes 2012. The submission were reviewed and oral; submissions were heard at a Special Consultative Procedure Hearing Subcommittee meeting 12 July 2012.
Subsequently the speed limit changes were adopted by the Council with the exception of the school zones which will be subject of a further report after further investigation of the School Zone signage requirements The speed limit signs were installed on Paekakariki Hill Road, Grays Road, Titahi Bay Road and Raiha Street in November 2012.
