Shopping in Porirua City

Porirua City is a regional shopping centre that provides a haven for retail shopping. It is close to the Wellington regional population of about 425,000 people, is on State Highway 1, has 3,000 FREE car parks and provides a complete shopping destination.

Porirua’s City Centre

North City Shopping Centre

North City Shopping Centre is one of the largest indoor shopping malls in the lower North Island and is located within easy reach of State Highway 1 in Porirua City. The Centre is conveniently located near rail and bus services and boasts over 1,300 free carparks. It is home to stores such as K-Mart and Farmers, a host of boutique outlets and national chains as well as a modern food court that caters for all tastes.

The MegaCentre offers 12 hectares of excellent bulk retail shopping catering to your every requirement. The centre hosts many retail heavyweights with over 1000 free parking spaces.

There are a host of furniture and fitting stores including Harvey Norman, Big Save Furniture and Back To Bed. Homeware stores are in abundance and include The Warehouse, Briscoes, Noel Leeming, and Spotlight.
